xhrl_ Immune to sentiment & personal drama, strong metal examines life beyond the subjective, through the eyes of logic, myths, history & science. Here Carcass replace this notion with a grindcore metal equivalent of U2: one-step ‘feel-it’ melodic hooks that stress comforting harmonies & rhythms for the trivial sake of emotion-validation! Disingenuous, it shows in the verse/chorus form where linear riffs are repeated in circles; the yawnable Pantera-riffing & Suffocation-cloned DM suck. Not LPs 1 & 2! Favorite track: Symposium of Sickness.

Mark Williams This classic Carcass album is very well recorded, making the full dynamic range edition essential. This is my favorite album of theirs. it's really a crossover album, after the pure chaos of the first albums but before it became full melodic death metal.
